Business Insider gets it wrong.. Consumers have NOT “been able to purchase a a wide range of electric cars for a decade”. Not true. No, the lack of sizzling sales in electric cars is NOT a consumer problem, it is a product problem. We explain the real reason E cars have not taken off: There are not enough cool looking, long range, nicely priced electric cars. There is Tesla (for a lot of money until this year), and......*Compliance cars*. Mostly ugly, mostly low range cars that Auto companies did not care about because they thought E-cars were a fad, a government regulation that needed to be ignored. Wrong! Now, Tesla (and maybe the Chevy Bolt) are about to have the entire middle market of Electric cars to themselves for at least 2 years. Demand for Electric cars has always been there...who wants to spend the time to pump gas and pollute the environment if you have a choice? Business Insider forgets all of this.
